I want to talk briefly about learner-making and Total Words.

Total Words www.totalwords.com  is an example of a learning system that is founded on agential realism principles:

·      Practice the skills we want to make real

·      Practice enough times to make sure that the boundary is secure

·      Provide consistent meaning i.e. progress-making to make the actions emotionally positive

·      Technology delivers access to learning resources and analyse of daily performance to deliver an efficient learning process

·      Data drives performance; data informs learners and teachers

·      Data focuses forward; it analyses what can be achieved, not what has been achieved, what a learn can do, not what they are

·      Share agency until agency is passed to the learner.

Learning systems are about to be transformed.

Learner-making means that we provide children with the actions and meaning of being a learner.
